Ecommerce SEO services for online shops
In most shops, the visits that turn into orders land on a category or a product page. We work where the money is: categories, products, filters and the data behind them.
Where an online shop wins or loses in search
Category pages carry the broad buying searches: “running shoes for women”, “split air conditioner 12000 BTU”. Product pages win the exact searches, a model name or a reference. Blog posts rarely sell on their own.
Two problems come up again and again. Category pages are a grid of products with no words, so Google has little to understand them by. Product pages carry the manufacturer’s description, word for word, which is also on every other shop selling that item.
Then there are the filters. Size, colour, brand and price can multiply a few hundred products into hundreds of thousands of addresses. Left alone, crawlers spend their time on near-copies and miss the pages that matter.
What our ecommerce SEO covers
Category pages
A short, useful introduction, clear filters, links to related categories and answers to the questions buyers ask before choosing.
Product pages
Your own descriptions on best sellers, full specifications, real photos with alt text, reviews and product structured data with price and availability.
Filter control
We decide which filter combinations deserve their own indexable page, “black leather sofa” for example, and keep the rest out of the index.
Merchant Center and free listings
A clean product feed so your products can appear in Google’s free shopping listings, and feed the Shopping campaigns if you run them.
Mobile speed
Image weight, scripts and apps that slow product pages, fixed with our speed optimization work.
Templates first
Most fixes go into the category and product templates, so one change improves every page built on them.
What to do when a product goes out of stock
Deleting product pages is an easy way to throw away rankings. Each case has its own answer.
| Situation | What we do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Out of stock, coming back | Keep the page live, mark it out of stock in the structured data, suggest alternatives | The page keeps its rankings for when stock returns |
| Discontinued, with a successor | Permanent redirect to the new model | Its links and history pass to the page that replaces it |
| Discontinued, no replacement | Redirect to the closest category, or let the page go if it never earned anything | Visitors land somewhere useful and the index stays clean |
| Seasonal product | Keep the same page year after year and update it | Rankings build up from one season to the next |
How we run ecommerce SEO

Write the pages that sell most
Category introductions and product descriptions, starting with the categories and products that bring the most revenue.
Track orders by landing page
Organic revenue followed to the category or product where the visit started.
What we report
Organic revenue by category
Orders and revenue from Google, grouped by category and by landing page.

How many of your sellable products and categories are indexed, and why the others are not.
Free listing performance
Clicks from Google’s free shopping listings, as reported in Merchant Center.
Phone and WhatsApp orders
Orders that arrive by message or call, tracked through the unified inbox and CRM.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work on Shopify and WooCommerce?
Yes, and on custom shops. Each platform has its habits. Shopify, for example, can create extra product addresses through collections, which need canonical tags set correctly. We know where to look on each.
Should my online shop have a blog?
Only for content that leads to a purchase: buying guides, comparisons, size and care advice, each linking to the right category. A blog that leads nowhere costs money and sells nothing.
Do AI assistants recommend products?
Yes, more and more. They draw on product data, reviews and pages they can read. Clean structured data, complete specifications and honest reviews help you on Google and in those answers.
What if most of my orders come by phone or WhatsApp?
We track those too. Each call and message is tied to the page the customer came from, so organic search gets credit for the orders it starts, paid on delivery or not.
How much does ecommerce SEO cost?
It depends on the size of the catalogue, the platform, the number of languages and the state of the templates. Our SEO pricing guide explains each factor.
