Competitor analysis for marketing and sales

A folder of competitor screenshots changes nothing. Our analysis answers one question: why does a buyer choose them over you, and what can you change by next month?

Start with the competitors your buyers actually see

The competitors you worry about are not always the ones you lose to. A clinic may watch the big hospital across town while its patients compare it with two smaller practices that answer WhatsApp faster.

So we start from where buyers look: the search results for your services, the ads they are shown, the names AI assistants give when asked, and what your sales team hears on calls. From that we keep a short list, usually five or six names, and study them closely.

What we look at

Their ads

What they run on Meta and Google, from Meta’s Ad Library and Google’s Ads Transparency Center: offers, formats, and how long each ad has been live.

Offers and prices

What they promise, what they charge where it is public, and what they add: free consultations, payment plans, guarantees.

Search and AI visibility

The searches they rank for and you do not, and whether ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI name them for your services. See AI brand perception.

Website and funnel

Their landing pages, forms and booking flow, and how many steps it takes to book.

Reviews

Volume, rating and recent trend, and what their customers praise or complain about.

Response to a new lead

A mystery enquiry by form, phone and WhatsApp, with the reply time, the follow-up and the quality of the answer recorded.

How the analysis runs

  1. Agree the list and the questions

Which competitors, which services, which cities and languages, and what decisions the analysis should inform.

  2. Collect

Ads, pages, search data, AI answers, reviews and mystery enquiries, over two to three weeks.

  3. Compare

Side by side on the points buyers care about, in a table you can read in ten minutes.

  4. Decide

A ranked list of actions for your ads, pages, offer and sales process, each with an owner.

  5. Check again

A lighter review each quarter, because offers and ads change faster than reports age.

What you receive

  • A competitor map: who buyers compare you with, by service and city
  • Links and captures of their current ads and offers
  • A search and AI visibility comparison for your main services
  • A review comparison, with the themes behind the ratings
  • Response times and follow-up from each mystery enquiry
  • A ranked action list for marketing and for sales

Frequently asked questions

Is it legitimate to look at competitors’ ads?

Yes. Meta’s Ad Library and Google’s Ads Transparency Center are public tools that anyone can search. We use only public information and ordinary enquiries, and never access anything behind a login that is not ours.

Will you copy what competitors do?

No. Copying makes you look like a cheaper version of someone else. We look for what buyers want and nobody offers well, and for the basics competitors do that you should simply match, such as answering on WhatsApp the same day.

What do we do with the results?

Act on the top of the list first. The actions usually land in a few places: the offer, the landing page, the ads and the speed of lead handling. Each has an owner and a date.

How often should we repeat it?

A full analysis once a year or before a major launch, and a lighter check every quarter. In fast-moving markets, such as aesthetics or new property launches, the ad check can be monthly.

Can you study competitors in other countries?

Yes, in French, Arabic and English. It is useful before entering a market, and to see how businesses abroad present the same service you sell. It is also a useful starting point for media planning.
