Digital marketing for dentists and dental clinics

Patients choose a dentist on their phone, often in pain or after months of putting it off. They read reviews, send a message and book whoever answers first. We build the path from that search to the chair.

How patients choose a dentist

Dental patients come in two kinds. The first has pain or a broken tooth, types “dentist near me” or “dentist open Sunday”, checks the map and calls the first open clinic with decent reviews. The decision takes minutes.

The second is planning implants, aligners or veneers, and takes weeks. They study the dentist’s profile, the clinic and the reviews, and nearly always ask the price in a private message first. Most of a clinic’s revenue sits here. So do most lost patients: the message waits until evening, and by then the patient has booked elsewhere.

Children’s orthodontics adds a parent who decides and pays. Patients living abroad plan treatment around a trip home and want dates and an estimate settled on WhatsApp before they travel.

What we set up for a dental clinic

Maps and local search

A complete Google Business Profile with true hours, real photos and every treatment listed, plus the local SEO work that puts you on the map for your area.

A page per treatment

What happens, how many visits, what affects the price, who does the work. Written to inform, in your patients’ languages.

A form that keeps the patient

Our booking form saves the name and phone number first, then the treatment and a slot. If the patient stops before the calendar, you can still call back.

Every message in one place

WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, SMS and email land in one inbox on the patient’s record, so nobody answers twice and nobody is forgotten.

Reminders against no-shows

A confirmation at booking and a reminder the day before, with an easy way to reschedule. A patient who moves an appointment still comes.

Reviews after the visit

A short request once the appointment is over, where your rules allow it, through our review generation process.

From first message to the dental chair

  1. Capture with its source

Every enquiry, from a form, a call or WhatsApp, enters the CRM tagged with the campaign or page it came from.

  2. Reply within minutes

In opening hours someone answers fast. Out of hours, an automatic reply promises a call the next morning, and the call happens.

  3. Ask only what booking needs

Treatment, urgency, preferred days. Nothing about the patient’s health that the appointment does not require.

  4. Follow up on estimates

An implant or orthodontic estimate left unanswered gets a call a few days later. A patient who goes quiet often has one open question.

Advertising rules for dentists, and how we work within them

Dentistry is a health profession, and most countries forbid selling it like a product. Some codes of ethics now let dentists publish factual information about their practice, while still forbidding them to run dentistry as a business. Others forbid any commercial advertising of care. The rules of your professional order and of the country where you practise set the limits.

The platforms add their own layer. Meta refuses ads that imply they know the reader’s health, so “Missing teeth?” is out, and Google and Meta both restrict targeting built on health conditions.

So our dental campaigns inform: who you are, what a treatment involves, where you are, how to book. No discounts on care. No superlatives such as “best dentist in town”, and no promised result. You approve every ad before it runs on Facebook and Instagram or Google.

The numbers we report to a dental clinic

Split by source and by treatment, because an emergency visit and an implant consultation are worth very different amounts.

Booked appointments

New-patient bookings per week, by campaign, page and treatment.

Show rate

Attended visits as a share of booked ones: the number reminders exist to move.

First reply time

How long a new message or form waits before the clinic answers.

Estimates accepted

Implant, aligner and larger treatment plans that went ahead, with each patient’s first source.

Cost per attended first visit

Ad spend divided by first visits that took place. Harder to flatter than cost per lead.

Traps we see in dental marketing

  • Counting form fills as patients, though some of those people will never come
  • Answering “price in private” under public comments
  • Messages spread across four phones, with nobody responsible for them
  • Implant searches sent to the homepage
  • One cost-per-lead target for every treatment, as if a check-up and an implant were worth the same
  • Ads running on the clinic’s day off, with nobody to answer

Frequently asked questions

Can a dental clinic advertise on Facebook, Instagram and Google?

In most countries, yes, within your code of ethics and the platforms’ health policies. Ads that inform and invite a booking pass both. Ads built on discounts, comparisons or the reader’s health problems usually fail one of them.

Should we show prices on our website?

Where your rules allow it, yes. Explaining what drives the price, or giving a starting price for common treatments, saves your team the same question all day. Where prices cannot be shown, say what the first consultation covers and what it costs.

How do you reduce no-shows?

Confirm at booking, remind the day before on the patient’s channel, usually WhatsApp, and make moving the appointment easier than skipping it. Then we track the show rate by source, because some campaigns bring people who book and never come.

Can we post before-and-after photos?

Only with the patient’s written consent, only where your professional rules allow it, and never in ads where the platform forbids it. Unretouched photos, same light, same angle: nothing else is worth posting.

How quickly will we see new bookings?

Paid campaigns can bring bookings within the first weeks, once tracking, the form and the reply routine are in place. Local search builds over months. We report bookings weekly from the start. Nobody can promise you a number of patients.
